Sawat-dee kaa!

This is the last week we will have Au, from Thailand, with us in 8FL. Today we began a short Social Studies topic learning a little about this interesting country and its culture.

Au comes from Bangkok, the largest city and capital of Thailand.
The most common greeting you will hear in Thailand is "sawatdee". This is quite often used for both hello and goodbye. To make it more formal you need to end with the following words: khrab for men and kaa for women.

Hello/Goodbye
sawat-dee kaa (or khrab)
