Next week 8FL starts the DARE To Make a Choice Programme, taught in conjunction with the New Zealand Police. We will have Constable Heather Rei (Police Education Officer) teaching us alongside Ms Flett. On the 7th October we hope to have a day out with the other year 8 classes, doing some fun activities and proving we can have a good time while still making healthy choices.
Meanwhile, our class has been presenting their Social Studies seminars about Ancient Civilisations to the rest of the class. We have learnt about Ancient Greece, Egypt, China, Aztecs, Mayans, and Spartans (Greek). Students followed up their presentation with a small teaching activity such as a quiz, some questions, drawing something from their culture or a wordfind.
